Football Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.
For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Parenting Life
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.
A family member advised me to get Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be extremely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
