Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Widespread Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported missile fragments landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
