Salah Extends Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the team after the controversy from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a European match after making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the team's response remained positive. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” he continued.
Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, playing well and on a positive run.”
