An extensive 60-day journey around Australia has been cancelled days after the death of an older female passenger who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a distant tropical isle.

The elderly woman had been hiking on the remote island with shipmates from the vessel, but separated from the party for a break. The vessel departed without her and went back later that day after the personnel discovered the lady was unaccounted for.
